Election Series- Responsibility of the elect- The Word of God (5)

• Introduction: Philemon 1 vs 6: We will never be confident or effective about sharing our faith until we have sufficiently acknowledged who we are in Christ. Regardless of our stature/status in the society, we must know for sure that we are the elect.

• Jeremiah 15 vs 16. The fact that we are called by His Name is the reason why the word of God becomes attractive, not because it is palatable. Sometimes, the word of God is difficult to swallow.

• Joshua 1 vs 8. Meditating in the Word of God is very pivotal to our daily living.

• Hebrews 13 vs 6. God expects a response from us for every Word He says.

• The elect can not function beyond their relationship with the Word of God.

• Act 20 vs 32: We can't come into the inheritance until we are built by the Word of Grace: until the Word becomes flesh.

• If the prayer warriors become word warriors, their prayer will be answered better because prayer without the word of God is like spraying bullets all around. A prayer Warrior who knows the Word is like a sniper: the bullets doesn't miss the target.

• Galatians 4 vs 1. A heir as long as he is child is not different from a slave.

• In physical growth, the food of the body and enlightenment - the food of the soul make us grow; also the food of the spirit is the Word of Grace which is able to build us up and give us an inheritance among those who are sanctified. 

• As the elect, how much of the word of God do you know?

• Part of the reason our evangelism is not effective is because we don't know who we are. The knowing is not head knowledge. 

• Different things you can do with the word of God: 

1. When you speak the word of God to yourself that is - meditation . (E.g. the ruminant animals ruminate if not the food doesn't nourish their body). We need to be like Berean Christian who are noble. (Acts 17 vs 10 - 11. KJV).

• Part of being noble spiritually is giving attention to the Word of God. 

• 2. Chronicles 20 vs 20b. You are first prophet of your own life; no matter what prophecy flies around you, if you don't take the word and speak it to yourself, nothing will happen.

• All things are possible to those who believed; Faith brings out the divine aspect of you. How do we get to that stature to function like god? It is by the Word of Grace.

• Isaiah 10 vs 27: Yokes are destroyed because of anointing (fatness). The picture is what happened to a chick in the egg shell, as it grows the shell becomes small and breaks.

• Every Word of God is a drop of the anointing, if you aggregate enough of it, the anointing of God will break forth upon your life. 

2. When you speak the word of God back to God that is - prayer . 

3. When you speak the word of God to the devil, that is - warfare. 

4. When you speak the word of God to brethren, that is - prophecy . Prophecy has three uses - edification, comfort and exhortation. 

5. When you speak the word of God to unbelievers, that is - evangelism .

• The word of God is our Primary implements, without the word there is nothing we can do.

• When God declared RCN LAGOS as the house of bread, it is because there will be famine of the word of God in the land. But when men come here, they will be fed with the word.

• This bread is like grass (Psalm 104 vs 14)

• Psalm 104 vs  14 - 15 (NIV) - Three things that can be derived from the word of God:

1. Wine that gladdens human hearts. (Colossians 3 vs 16). The same effect of the word filled up in your heart is the same effect of the fullness of the Spirit. 

2. Oil to make their faces shine. This speaks about - the anointing of the Holy Ghost, the beauty of God upon the life of a man and the boldness that comes from deep penetration of the word of God.

3. Bread that sustains their hearts.

Conclusion: Mark 11 vs 23 (NKJV) believe was mentioned 1 time and 3 times as more speaking than believing. God told Keneth Hagin: to get to believe You must have spoken three times. This is when you are able to look at the devil in face and you negotiate not.

Prayers:

• We cry to God tonight for fresh hunger for the Word of God.

• Lord, we pray for fresh hunger and thirst tonight in the name of Jesus.

Prayers:

• Lord, we pray for Grace to be a diligent believer who rightly divides the word of truth.

• Lord, replenish the vessel You have used for us: The teaching grace of God will be strong upon him in the name of Jesus and by this the people of God will be led aright. 

• We will not be hearers alone but doers in the name of Jesus.
